2019: Progressives Forum drums support for Uba Sani
A group, the Kaduna Central Progressives Forum(KPF), has urged Malam Uba Sani, Elrufai’s Political Adviser, to rescue them by contesting as senator in the next year’s election.
The group’s Chairman, Ibrahim Khalil made the call in a media statement the group issued in Kaduna on Friday and made available to Politics Today. He explained that apart from the projects of the Elrufai administration that dotted the Kaduna Central landscape, “there’s nothing tangible to show as evidence of constituency development projects and this leaves us very worried”.
The statement noted that Elrufai’s Political Adviser has decent democratic credentials to go for that office and “he has enormous political goodwill and the of respect of our people in Kaduna Central”.
The group also disclosed that it had lost count of the number of people in Kaduna Central that got employed in many of the new Kaduna state government agencies, through the help of Elrufai’s Political Adviser.
While commending Governor Nasir Elrufai for taking infrastructural development projects and economic empowerment programmes to the grassroots, “after 30 years of neglect by previous administrations”, it urged the electorate to sustain the tempo of their loyalty.
The group also noted that with “unbeatable records of helping enterprising youth to build their battered economic lives, empowering the elderly and helping the Clergy as well as the weak people, history is already beckoning on Malam Uba Sani”.
The statement then revealed that the group is working on a door-to-door campaign in Kaduna Central, to drum up support for the candidature of the Political Adviser in the 2019 senatorial elections.
