A philanthropist and permanent Secretary working with Federal Government Engr. Abu Magaji from Zamfara state, has written a letter to the state chapter of Inter-party Advisory Council (IPAC), declaring his intention and plan of action to join active partisan politics through the body after retirement soon.

The state chairman of IPAC, Sani Danmasani, while briefing newsmen in Gusau said after receiving the letter from the philanthropist, that the executives of the body had met, deliberated and resolved on the issue, for which he said the IPAC has been impressed by the the philanthropist’s latest plan to join politics through the body.

“In fact, we are highly impressed and feel greatly honoured by the way the philanthropist has been showing his concern and recognition for us and wrote a letter to us about his intention and plan of action to join active politics through this association, IPAC in the state”, Danmasani said.

According to him, IPAC as a body is proud of Engr, Abu Magaji, for the important thing he has done in the history of politics, “who before joining active politics thought of how best to go about it, by joining through the association of political parties,” adding that this has never been done in either state level or even in the entire nation.

He stressed that “even though, he did not mention the political party he intended to join, but we look at this as respect to all political parties in the state and even if he chooses the political party he wanted to join, it shows that he would as well carry everybody along and this would promote democratic trend”.

Danmasani, therefore called on all political parties in the state to reciprocate the gesture done by Engr. Abu Magaji and rally round the needed support for him towards achieving the desired goals as he forges ahead.

Meanwhile, the philanthropist Engr. Abu Magaji has in his letter addressed to IPAC indicated inter-alia: “The purpose of this letter is to formally inform you that in recent times, I have been receiving calls and invitations from individuals and groups that I should join politics after my retirement from public service. In their wisdom, they believe I will make positive contribution towards the development of our society”.

“In compliance with our religious teaching and our good tradition both of which recommend listening to good advice, I decided to consider the invitation and have decided to answer the call of the people. I therefore, wish to inform you that on my retirement from the Federal Civil Service which will be very soon, I intend to participate actively in the politics of Zamfara state and the Federal Republic of Nigeria”, Engr. Abu Magaji stated.
