ABU hosts Mr. LA on 2-day agric promotion

The Kaduna Central “Senator in waiting” Lawal Adamu Usman (Mr LA) was Friday hosted by the Ahmadu Bello University to a two-day series of events on agricultural improvement.
Mr LA’s special consultant on media, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman who gave the announcement said the lectures were organized by the Association of Kaduna State Agricultural Students in collaboration with the National Agricultural Extension and Research Liaison Services (NAERLS.)
The first day, he explained, would feature Agro-Prenuer and Farmers Variety Night with the theme: The Independent Agricultural Students.
“The event also has the following sub-themes: Oil and Agriculture: The Challenges Facing Agricultural Graduates; Bio-Stress Management; Economic Insecurity: Agriculture as the Way Out; and The Role of Groundnut Pyramids in Pre-Oil Nigeria.
“Speakers for these sub-themes are: Professor Salihu A. Buhari of the Agronomy department, ABU; Professor A. B. Zannah of department of crop promotion; Professor L. Emmanuel, Deputy Director NAERLS; and Dr Abdullahi Namakka of Samaru College of Agriculture respectively.
“The second day would feature public lectures with the theme: Revisiting the Role of Agriculture in Pre-Oil Nigeria: Lessons and Reflections, to be chaired by the youngest aspirant to the Kaduna Central Senate position, Lawal Adamu Usman.
“The two-day event primarily to present the Mr LA Initiative for the agricultural sector promotion,is to be hosted by Dr M. Abdulrashid with Hon. Dr Daniel Maigari as chief host and Professor O. Ajabe as special guest of honour,” Suleiman said.
