AMAF Hails Kebbi Governor, Backs Hunt for Radio Station Raiders
The Arewa Media Advancement Forum (AMAF) has lauded Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, for upgrading Kebbi Radio Station through digitalization and the installation of modern broadcasting equipment, describing it as a key advancement in the state’s media infrastructure.
The Forum’s Chairman – Musa Garba however, condemned recent raid on the station by 15 armed criminals, who overpowered security personnel and stole critical equipment, including transformer accessories, batteries, cables, and computers.
“This brazen attack is not just a criminal act; it is an attempt to undermine the developmental strides of Governor Idris’ administration,” Garba stated.
He expressed support for ongoing efforts by security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators and urged them to intensify their hunt, describing the incident as the most devastating of three attacks on the station in recent times.
The attack occurred just as residents were celebrating the station’s rehabilitation and modernization under Governor Idris.
The injured security guards are receiving treatment at Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital in Birnin Kebbi, while authorities have promised a thorough investigation. AMAF reaffirmed its commitment to protecting public assets and advancing media development across Northern Nigeria.
