APC National Chair: Senator Sani Musa leading in cross-social endorsements

Senator Sani Musa ( Niger APC) is now leading in cross-social approvals as a National Chairman aspirant of the party.
Our correspondents who investigated how the aspirants are faring with less than a week to the ruling party’s convention said the Niger State lawmaker is ahead of the other aspirants, especially after two aspirants saw the handwriting on the wall and pulled out before screening stage.
Meanwhile the lawmaker, in an interview with journalists in the premises of the National Assembly has said he will stop the practice of governors funding the APC when elected.
Musa, a member of the current senate, who first dropped the hint about asserting the supremacy and independence of the party while speaking with members of the APC House Caucus on Tuesday, said the party will leverage on the 43 million registered members of the APC.
He disclosed that he will be approaching network providers to ensure a monthly contribution of the members.
“I don’t see where the Democratic Party of the USA begs governors to fund the party. When elected, I don’t see any reason why the party, with 43 million members should be going to governors for money,” he stated.
His stance is seen in some quarters as a direct challenge to the governors of the APC, who continued to control the party after the exit of Adams Oshiomhole.
Senator Sani Musa has recently bagged Politics Today’s Lawmaker of the Year for sponsoring highly-impactful bills amongst the current Senate’s ‘newbies’. He was also honored in an elaborate ceremony last year by Rotary international for his sterling leadership qualities and philanthropy.
