The Federal Government has honoured Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, at the 2024 Nigeria Govtech Public Service Awards as outstanding Digital Governor in the Northwest of the country.
Organised by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), the event was a celebration of individuals and organisations making significant strides in public sector digital transformation.
The Director-General of BPSR, Dr. Dasuki, declared that the awardees were selected through a rigorous nomination and voting process across various platforms.
The 2024 Nigeria Govtech Conference and Awards had participants from Nigeria and beyond, honouring excellence in digital governance.
Simultaneously, Governor Uba Sani was recently crowned the “Most Outstanding Governor on Infrastructure and Social Amenities” by Democracy Heroes Award Africa. The award, accepted on his behalf by his deputy, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, underscores his groundbreaking efforts in transforming Kaduna’s infrastructure and improving social services. From remodeling abandoned hospitals to modernizing road networks, Uba Sani’s leadership is paving the way for sustained economic growth, according to an associate of the governor, Malam Aminu Zaria.
“This dual recognition not only highlights his achievements but signals his ongoing commitment to driving impactful governance in Kaduna and beyond”, Zaria added.
The governor’s colleagues that also got the Govtech award included Peter Mbah of Enugu, Mohammed Bago of Niger, Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of Plateau, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, and Godwin Obaseki of Edo states respectively.
