A civil society organisation (CSO), the Uba Sani Legacy Projects Solidarity Assembly (USLEPSA), has extolled Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, for approving three landmark policies aimed at improving teachers’ welfare and strengthening education delivery across the state.
The group commended the governor for approving a rural posting allowance for teachers, extending the retirement age from 60 to 65 years, and increasing the years of service from 35 to 40 years, describing the measures as bold, humane and forward-looking.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, USLEPSA Chairman, Comrade Musa Garba, said the reforms reflect Governor Uba Sani’s commitment to addressing long-standing challenges confronting teachers, especially those serving in rural and underserved communities.
According to him, the introduction of a rural posting allowance will incentivise teachers to accept postings outside urban centres and help correct the imbalance in teacher distribution across Kaduna State.
Comrade Garba also praised the extension of the retirement age and years of service, noting that the policies will allow the state to retain experienced educators whose expertise remains critical to improving learning outcomes.
“Governor Uba Sani has once again demonstrated that people-focused governance delivers real impact. These policies recognise the sacrifices of teachers and prioritise the future of education in Kaduna State,” he said.
The group reaffirmed its support for the Uba Sani administration and urged stakeholders in the education sector to reciprocate the governor’s commitment through professionalism and dedication.
