Breaking: Kaduna Govt Refutes KAEDCO’s N2.9 billion Debt Claim
The Kaduna State Power Supply Company (KAPSCO) has disputed Kaduna Electric’s claim of a N2.9 billion debt, citing payment of all inherited debt from 2015 upto March 2023.
KAPSCO, in a strongly-worded media statement, said it verified and paid N7.3 billion, saving N2.8 billion “due to overbilling.”
KAPSCO, in the statement, also faulted Kaduna Electric’s disconnection of government facilities, including a hospital, saying the action violated NERC regulations.
In the end, KAPSCO has invited Kaduna Electric to reconcile pending issues, highlighting Kaduna State Government’s significant investments in the company and electricity infrastructure. The government demanded a collaborative resolution to ensure the success of the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.
