From Muhammad Tanko in Jos
The Plateau State chapter of Sule Lamido, Support Group, has alleged that its presidential campaign office was vandalized by some APC supporters.
The group also alleged that the flex banners of their office situated along Muhammadu Buhari way in Jos South local government area of the state was destroyed for just no reasons.
State Secretary of the group Hon. Sadat Garga, who made the allegations during a press conference at their office, lamented that the new flex banners, mounted outside the campaign office was not only destroyed but completely removed, Wednesday night, describing the action as “..barbaric and uncivilized.”
“The office began operation just on the first of March this year and it is unfortunate that this is happening now even before electioneering period started.
” We are appealing to the rulling APC to focus on governance and not the destruction of the properties of the main opposition PDP. We are not taking what has happened lightly. We must get to the root of the matter and justice must be done, ” the PDP added.
Garga flanked by the group’s Publicity Secretary, Hon. Muhammad Badu, said: “…it has become the tradition of the ruling party in Nigeria, to go about vandalising opposition party offices.”
“In Kaduna it was pulling down, in Kogi it was attack on distribution of items, done by the APC ruling party against the PDP and other parties,” he alleged.
According to him the act was “a threat to democracy, because it will likely continue.”
While responding to questions, he said though no person was seen or caught but “reports are leading us to some people and very soon we will get to the root of it.”
