The plan by Federal Government of Nigeria for the trial of no fewer than 2,000 individuals arrested for their involvement in Boko Haram activities has reached advanced stage.
Eight judges have been assigned by President Bola Tinubu to handle the special trial, which will take place in Kainji, Niger State. The government has also addressed logistic issues that had hampered the kick-off the trial.

A source revealed that the issues that had previously hindered the effort have now been resolved, and the trial is ready to proceed. The suspects have been detained at the Operation Safe Corridor facility in Kainji, Niger State.

Meanwhile, the Solicitor-General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Justice, Mrs. Beatrice Jedy-Agba, has emphasized the need to reconfigure military holding facilities to ensure a secure and conducive environment for the trials.
