Calm returns to Kasuwan Magani after bloody fight
A detachment of Police and military personnel have been deployed to Kasuwan Magani community in Kajuru Local Government area of Kaduna State following the eruption of violence that left scores injured.
A source in Kasuwan Magani told Politics Today that a political thug in the area with notoriety for terrorizing residents was behind today’s violence when he attacked a family he suspected of planning to “convert his girlfriend to a Muslim”. This, the source continued, led to bloody reprisal attack by some people in the neighbourhood.
Another source said a curfew “is badly needed here, because we feel so unsafe and vulnerable to attack late at night”.
Another resident expressed optimism that the heavy presence of security personnel has brought calm to the area.
