Excitement as APC clears godfather of Sokoto politics, Wamakko
There was jubilation yesterday in Sokoto State, when news filtered out that former governor and Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko was successfully screened by the National panel of the APC, at the ongoing 2023 screening exercise in Abuja.
A source in Sokoto State APC headquarters told our reporter that the godfather of Sokoto politics has been inundated with telephone calls and congratulatory messages.
The Senator also hosted Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at his Abuja residence at Abuja last week.
The cheering news about the clearance of the philanthropist came days after the lawmaker gifted clothes and cash to 10,000 widows in Sokoto state.
