Fact check: Who bowed for pastors’ blessing?Governor Fintiri or Boss Mustapha?

A fact-check run by Politics Today on the purported picture of Governor Fintiri bowing before Christian clergy in Adamawa for special prayers has revealed the truth.

The narrative : Online news platforms and whatsApp chat groups on the net have shared purported pictures of Governor Fintiri bowing down and sticking out his head for blessings from the Adamawa Catholic clergy, numbering about seven(7).
Investigations online, using apps for detecting the date and age of photos and random sampling of some Adamawa residents, who were at the Church during the event, discredited the viral news containing Governor Fintiri’s pictures. Residents confirmed that Governor Fintiri indeed visited the area and the Church in question, wearing blue-colored attire, while Secretary to the Government of the Federation – Boss Mustapha was there in ash-colored dress ( which was the one passed to the public as Fintiri’s).
A member of the community where the Church is located, who pleaded for anonymity, argued that it was “political mischief-makers at work”.
The third politically-exposed visitor to the same Church was Hajiya Aishatu Binani and the picture was also found.
Fact is that the pictures that the “mischief-makers” seem to have deliberately refused to offer explanations for, are now unveiled by our Adamawa undercover Reporter.
