Gov Uba Sani Unlocking Opportunities for Kaduna Women, Says Commissioner
Governor Uba Sani’s administration is breaking barriers and unlocking opportunities for women in Kaduna State, says the Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development, Hajiya Rabi Salisu.
Speaking at the first Kaduna State 2-day Women Economic Empowerment Summit at Murtala Square, the Commissioner described the administration as “pro-poor and gender-sensitive,” committed to fostering inclusivity and sustainable development.
The highlight of the summit was the launch of three transformative policy documents aimed at empowering women and youth in the state, namely:
- Women Economic Empowerment Policy
- Women Peace and Security Action Plan
- Youth Peace and Security Action Plan
“These policies address systemic barriers hindering women’s progress, such as limited access to education, financial services, and flexible work arrangements,” Hajiya Rabi Salisu stated.
“Governor Uba Sani’s administration is creating an environment where women can thrive and contribute meaningfully to the economy,” she added.
The Commissioner called on stakeholders to support the implementation of the policies, emphasizing their potential to foster leadership, entrepreneurship, and financial inclusion for women.
“We must work together to create a society where women have equal opportunities to succeed. It is a collective journey for a better future,” she urged.
The event was also graced by Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, members of the State Executive Council, and key development partners, all of whom reaffirmed their commitment to driving women’s empowerment forward.
Hajiya Rabi Salisu expressed profound gratitude to Governor Uba Sani, noting that his administration’s gender-friendly policies mark a significant milestone in Kaduna’s development. The summit, she added, represents a bold step toward creating opportunities for women to thrive in all sectors of the economy.
