Governorship: Dauda Lawal Dare, others defeat Governor Yari at Supreme Court

The Zamfara APC governorship candidate, Dauda Lawal Dare and his associates in the G-8 movement have defeated incumbent Governor AbdulAziz Yari at Supreme Court in Abuja as his sponsored governorship was disqualified by the court.
Dauda Lawal Dare and his fellow G-8 movement’s members were at the supreme Court to seek interpretation over the fate of the APC in a controversial election that the G-8 considered an imposition by Governor Yari.
In a series of interviews just before the Supreme Court’s latest and final verdict, members of the G-8 have told the world that Governor Yari’s imposition of his lackey as successor using the APC as a stepping stone would not stand.
Consequently, today’scourt ruling voids the election of Senate, House of Representatives, House of Assembly Members and Governor elected on the platform of APC in the just-concluded elections.
With the executive and legislative seats already lost, the ruling indicates that the political party with the highest numbers of votes (except in the Presidential) shall be Sworn-in on May 29th.
