Candidate for the Kaduna Central Senate seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Malam Uba Sani has assured a delegation of Pastors from various denominations who met him on Wednesday that it shall definitely be well with the state.
The delegation, led by Reverend Danjuma Mazadu and some members of the Christian Association of Nigeria harped on the need for peaceful elections and good governance at the meeting with Malam Uba in the state capital.
Uba Sani told the delegation that with the commitment of the current state government under Malam Nasir Elrufai to security and personal safety, the state would certainly be returned to the path of enduring peace.
He however cautioned that stability would always evade the society if religious leaders fail to preach messages of peace, love, and trust which are the fundamentals of every religious faith.
Several ideas and views were exchanged during the visit, with Uba Sani stressing that the entire human civilization is based on co-existence of faiths which means equal respect for the whole of humanity.
He said religions teach peace and love for mankind. And to combat all forms of expression which incite hatred, society as a whole should take action against dissemination of such material.
“We should promote unity in families first, which will lead us to a united society. And we also should believe in our young people. If we need a strong society, we have to first make our youth strong by inculcating values of right speech, thinking and action,” he said.
Earlier on Tuesday, Uba Sani was at the Murtala Square where he represented Governor elrufai at this year’s annual Maulud celebration.
Addressing thousands of Muslims of the Tijjaniyya Tariqah sect on behalf of the governor, Uba said elrufai was inadvertently away on a state visit abroad, but that governor urged the mammoth crowd to pray for the good health of President Buhari “to continue work and for the progress of the Elrufai administration”.
Reiterating the message of peace, Uba Sani urged the Ulamah to stress the doctrine of peace and harmony to their followers as expounded by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
He explained that the Maulud should be seen as an occasion for sober reflection being the anniversary of the birth of the Prophet who was sent with the religion of peace.
