Kaduna 2019: Group lampoons rumour mongers over Ashiru

A group, Kaduna for Isa Ashiru 2019, has described as “baseless and unfounded rumour”, the news of planned replacement of the name of Hon Isa Ashiru Kudan with that of Alhaji Muktar Ramalan Yero as PDP’s 2019 governorship candidate.
In statement signed by the group’s Coordinator, Malam Aliyu Kudan, aka ‘Masta’, it said “there is deliberate attempt to mislead the public with false news by some people who feel threatened by the formidable political fortunes of Hon Isa Ashiru”.
The group also accused “certain vested interests in the Kaduna rival political parties of planting fake news in order to roughen the political edges of Ashiru’s wonderful support base and campaign team.”
The group then urged the PDP governorship candidate not to be distracted by the activities of fifth columnists “working as double agents for the APC and other political parties in Kaduna.”
Of late there were rumours about alleged plans by the Kaduna State PDP to supplant Ashiru’s name with that of former governor Muktar Yero, a story which the group condemned as “white lie designed to demoralize the supporters of Ashiru and confuse his massively growing number of supporters, mislead the electorate and destabilize the Kaduna PDP.”
