Kaduna APC Primaries: Uba Sani floors incumbent Senator with 2088 votes
APC senatorial aspirant, Malam Uba Sani has emerged the flagbearer of the party at its primary elections on Saturday with a wide margin of 2088. This left his arch -rival and incumbent Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani with 15 votes, a difference of 2,073 votes.
Alhaji Usman Sardaunan Badarawa got 129 votes. The other candidate was Shamsu Giwa who got 6 votes.
The result was announced in the presence of INEC national official, Professor Eddiefloyd Igbo Saturday evening in Kaduna. The APC primaries which was well-attended, was conducted peacefully.
After the calculation of the results that produced Malam Uba Sani as winner, the candidates who lost, in a rare act of sportsmanship, took turns to congratulate the winner.
The Saturday primaries of the ruling party took place after some postponements due to confusion caused by media reports suggesting it would never hold because the incumbent Senator Shehu Sani was purported to have been given an automatic return ticket to the Senate in 2019.
Speaking to newsmen outside the Tarsus Hall at Mortala Mohamed Square in Kaduna after the primaries, Malam Uba Sani expressed gratitude to the delegates and stakeholders who gave all their time and effort towards his victory. He called on all the aspirants in the race to join hands with him through viable advice for the good of the Senatorial Zone.
Malam Uba is expected to slug it out with Candidates from other political parties in the 2019 general elections.
