Kaduna APC Rep resigns from party, mute on next move
…Says he can’t stand factionalization of party at the national level
The Kaduna state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC)reportedly recieved the resignation letter of one politician widely believed to be a diehard supporter of the ruling party, Honorable Samaila Suleman.
Honourable Suleiman, a member of the House of Representatives said his defection was informed by the party’s alleged factionalisation at the national level among other things.
The lawmaker and former kaduna North Local Government Chairman, who represents Kaduna North Federal Constituency, according a report by legit.ng was, however, silent on which party he would be joining afterwards.
It was reported that Suleiman resigned his membership of the APC with immediate effect but refused to announce which party he intends to join.
Suleiman first made the announcement in a letter of resignation dated Tuesday, March 8, and sent to the state chairman of his party.
He then made the disclosure in a post via Facebook on Saturday, March 12. According to the lawmaker, he resigned due to internal democracy challenges and factionalization of the party especially at the national level.
Meanwhile, it is not clear as at press time what the Kaduna state APC Headquarters thinks of the resignation and some observers assume this is the reason the lawmaker is yet announce whether he would defect to another party or run as an independent candidate next year – as he decision will depend on the acceptance or otherwise of his resignation by the party leadership.
