Kaduna LG First Ladies Back Push for Women’s Inclusion and Empowerment
In a landmark show of solidarity, the wives of 23 Local Government Area (LGA) chairmen in Kaduna State have thrown their weight behind efforts to uplift women across the state.

Led by Hajiya Hussaina M. Nayaya, wife of the ALGON Chairman and Chairperson of the delegation, the group paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development, Hajiya Rabi Salisu (Garkuwar Marayun Zazzau), to strengthen collaboration on women-focused initiatives.
During an interactive session, each representative shared recent achievements and outlined upcoming projects aimed at advancing women’s economic participation, education, and leadership at the grassroots.
Commissioner Rabi Salisu commended their efforts and described the visit as a powerful symbol of unity and purpose. “You are strategically positioned to drive real change in our communities. Let’s work together to increase women’s visibility and participation in decision-making,” she said.
The Commissioner encouraged the wives to engage further with the wives of councillors, initiate grassroots programs, and support the ministry’s policies targeting gender-sensitive development, leadership training, and vulnerability interventions.
She also highlighted ongoing efforts by the ministry in advocacy, capacity-building, and protecting women from exploitation, stressing that “collective action is key to building a stronger, more inclusive Kaduna State.”
The visit concluded with a shared commitment to intensify partnership and align efforts for the broader empowerment of women in all 23 LGAs.
