“I cried profusely when I heard that a Senator from Kaduna Central used my hard-earned results to gain admission into ABU while I wandered in abject lack of job. I studied for two years through sleepless nights of hard work and research, but someone just forged the result, “a devastated Halima said told newsmen.
Halima Ndanusa was a student at the Public Administration Department, Ameer Shehu College of Advanced Studies, an affiliate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria between 2011 and 2013 with registration number A11/PA/1147 wherefrom she obtained a Diploma certificate which was later forged by certain Lawal Adamu to gain admission into Ahmadu Bello University Zaria for a direct entry degree programme at the Public Administration Department of the University.
While responding to questions from journalists shortly after the court session, Halima recounted in an emotionally-laden voice her shock that people who forge results still shamelessly seek to lead people while the real owners of the results suffer in abject poverty and lack of jobs.
Ameer Shehu Idris College of Advanced Studies was subpoenaed by the Court to testify in an election petition tribunal filed at the Kaduna Central Senatorial District by Muhammad Sani Abdullahi Dattijo of the All Progressive Congress (APC) against the Senator Lawal Adamu Usman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on a three count charge, including the first respondents qualification to contest election given his presentation of forged certificates, and also substantial non-compliance with the electoral act.
While testifying on Tuesday at the tribunal sitting in Kaduna, the Provost of the College, Dr Richard Ogunleye Ibrahim said, “we have thoroughly checked our records for year 2011/2013 academic session and we do not have a student with the name Lawal Adamu with registration number A11/PA/1147.”
The Provost of the College further said to court; “However, we can confirm that we have a female student; Halima Ibrahim Ndanusa, as the bona-fide student with the same registration number A11/PA/1147 that graduated in the period under review”.
Halima Ibrahim has consequently demanded for justice and prosecution of the offenders for allegedly using her results fraudulently. She also calls on the management of Ahmadu Bello University to immediately expunge her Diploma certificate from the records of alleged graduate.
