Governor Nasir Ahmad Elrufai of Kaduna State has today commiserated with the victims of the recent communal clash at Kasuwan Magani that reportedly claimed 12 lives, and the destruction of about 1,000 houses, commercial buildings and several vehicles.

The governor, who was represented by his Special Adviser Political and Inter-governmental Relations, Uba Sani urged the people of Kasuwan Magani to continue to uphold the spirit of peace and harmony, as the pillars of purposeful development.

The governor’s adviser also disclosed that more relief materials are under way for the families of the victims, along with all other survivors. He assured the gathering of stakeholders, including representatives of the Muslim and Christian believers as well the party leaders of the determination of the Elrufai administration to improve the living conditions of the people through significant reforms that are helpful to their economic survival.

In his remark, the Acting Chairman of  APC in the State, Alhaji Shuaibu Idris Lauje also admonished the people of the area to embrace the spirit of brotherhood and devote their time and energy to productive ventures all the time.

It would be recalled that security agents have, following the bloody crisis in Kasuwan Magani, swooped on the area and arrested about 18 people suspected of instigating the violence. A competent security source said the agencies have also stepped up efforts tono not only apprehend the killer gangs but their sponsors.  This was sequel to the position  of some community leaders yesterday, that the violence and arson were “politically-motivated”.
