KDSG poised to boost fiscal transparency, credible citizens’ engagement
Kaduna state Government is poised to improve the credibility and participation of citizens in its audit process and ensure consistency in fiscal transparency.
The Auditor-General of the State, Abubakar Abdullahi, dropped the hint while hosting members of the Kaduna State Open Government Partnership Citizens Engagement Technical Working Group in his office.
He assured the OGP Team of his readiness to work with the Civil Society to ensure fiscal transparency in the state through an open audit process.
He said also explained that the Office of the Auditor-General will collaborate with civil society and media to evolve a framework for participatory auditing. He went on to say that he will consider the establishment of a civil society desk officer to sustain the chain of communications in the partnership.
The TWG and Civil Society partners say it shall embark on an advocacy visit to the Public Account Committee (PAC) of the State House of Assembly.
