Governor Senator Uba Sani’s bold infrastructural strides in Southern Kaduna have rightfully earned the applause of the region’s key appointees, who are united in acknowledging the sweeping transformation now taking place. These political leaders are not just celebrating new roads and facilities—they are witnessing the dawn of a new era of growth, empowerment, and opportunity for a region long held back by neglect.

A key moment came from Dr. Abdullahi Baba Ahmed, the Managing Director of the Kaduna State Roads Agency (KADRA), who highlighted the completion and budgetary adjustments for critical road projects. The U/Rimi-NEPA Road, which had been stalled since 2020, is now set for completion by Christmas after renegotiating the project cost from ₦13 billion to ₦9.3 billion, with 50% of the funds already disbursed. Alongside this, the 22.8km Madauchi-Kafanchan Road and the 22.5km Kibam-Godogodo Road, designed to international standards, are set to usher in a new era of connectivity. These projects reflect Governor Sani’s efficiency in reallocating resources to ensure timely delivery and long-term benefit for the region.

The recently launched projects, such as the 20-kilometer Ungwan Rimi to NEPA Roundabout road, are more than just construction; they’re critical lifelines for the people of Southern Kaduna. With holiday travel made easier and economic activity set to soar, these roads symbolize far-reaching change. Governor Sani’s approach to road networks, skill acquisition centers, and world-class educational institutions reflects an inclusive development strategy that empowers Southern Kaduna’s youth and prepares them for a thriving future.

What stands out is not just the scope of these projects but the urgency with which they’re being executed. Long-delayed initiatives like the U/Rimi-NEPA road are finally being completed, at a reduced cost, thanks to Governor Sani’s commitment to efficiency and transparency. This proactive approach to infrastructure development, with projects strategically designed to meet international standards, is setting Southern Kaduna up for lasting prosperity.

But it’s not just the appointees who recognize this progress. Jerry Adams, Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service, points out that tax compliance is key to funding these ambitious projects. It’s a clear call for residents to actively contribute to the region’s growth by fulfilling their civic duties. Without this collective effort, the pace of development could slow.

Governor Uba Sani is not just building roads; he’s laying the foundation for a new era of connectivity, economic opportunity, and social mobility in Southern Kaduna. With continued focus, collaboration, and investment, the region is poised for unprecedented growth and transformation. Now is the time for all stakeholders to rally behind this vision and ensure that Southern Kaduna’s bright future is realized.
