Alhaji Muhammad Abacha, son of former military leader, Sani Abacha, was elected as the PDP governorship candidate in the party’s primaries that held in Kano yesterday.
However, there is a snag for Abacha, as parallel primaries was reportedly held in the state sameday.
Abacha polled 736 votes to defeat his closest rival, Jafar Sani-Bello, who scored 710 votes in the primary election as announced by the Returning Officer, Hajiya Amina Garba.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the electoral committee, Alhaji Mohammed Jamu, said the primaries were legally conducted with validly-elected delegates.
Jamu explained that the poll was supervised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) police and State Security Service (SSS) operatives.
