Security Revamp: When Uba Sani and new GOC close ranks against terrorism

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has taken a major step to combat the rising wave of insecurity in the state by signing the Kaduna State Security Trust Fund Bill 2024 into law. This new law is expected to provide funding support to the efforts being made towards degrading terrorists, bandits, kidnappers and other criminal elements. The governor has also been working closely with the Armed Forces of Nigeria to fight and win the war against banditry, kidnapping and all other forms of criminality in the State.

The collaboration with the nation’s Armed Forces and other security agencies has already started paying off. The recent visit by the 43rd General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division, Maj. Gen. MLD Saraso, to the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, is a testament to the strong partnership between the state government and the security agencies. Maj. Gen. Saraso, who was on a courtesy visit to the Governor, applauded the administration’s efforts in supporting security agencies in carrying out their duties effectively in the state.
Governor Uba Sani, in his remarks, assured the GOC of his administration’s commitment to strengthening the existing partnership between the state government and the security agencies. He emphasized that his administration is determined to provide the necessary support to ensure that the security agencies have the resources they need to effectively combat criminality in the state.
The Kaduna State Governor believes that good governance is the most potent weapon against insecurity and has tailored his administration to bring sustainable development to every nook and cranny of Kaduna State. He has initiated several programs aimed at addressing the root causes of insecurity, such as poverty, unemployment, and lack of education.
The signing of the Kaduna State Security Trust Fund Bill 2024 into law is a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to combat insecurity. The law provides a legal framework for the establishment of a security trust fund, which will be used to support the security agencies in their efforts to combat criminality.
