UBA SANI FOUNDATION TRAINS 520 PEOPLE, DONATES N1m

The Uba Sani Empowerment Foundation for the Underprivileged (USEFUL) has trained 520 people as part of the organization’s empowerment drive for youth and women’s economic self-reliance.
The just-concluded training programme is one of the many in the series, lined-up for empowering the least privileged members of the society with passion for being self-employed.
Investigations revealed that the latest graduation was also part of a comprehensive framework designed by USEFUL, with the technical support of its partners, for rescuing citizens in need. And that the primary goal of the latest effort was to bridge the vocational and workplace skill gaps, with market-driven technical job skills and knowledge of the economy that will enable young people excel in the society.
The programme has its roots in a partnership between the trio of Uba Sani Foundation for the Underprivileged, Magvoile Vocation Center and Hasken Arewa (Light Up Arewa).
At the end of the programme, trained entrepreneurs, numbering 520 people acquired skills ranging from tailoring, photography, shoemaking, embroidery to IT skills among others.
Earlier during the flag-off, Malam Uba Sani on behalf of his Foundation disclosed that the sum of over N1 million was set aside to cover the certification of the participants at the end of the 5-day programme, while on the 6th day the graduands received their respective certificates
The successful graduands expressed gratitude to the Uba Sani Foundation and its partners for coming to their rescue at a critical point in the history of the nation, saying few privileged Nigerians have the courage to rebuild the lives of fellow citizens.
A Kaduna-based politician, Cafra Caino described the development as a turning point in the history of philanthropy in Kaduna State, adding that “if we have just 10 of Uba Sani’s kind in Kaduna, we would be just be fine as a people”.
