BREAKING: Uba Sani Reshapes Kaduna’s Trajectory with N790bn Budget
Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has presented a bold and ambitious N790 billion budget estimate for the 2025 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly, prioritizing education, health, and infrastructure to drive development and improve the lives of residents.
The budget, themed “A Blueprint for Transformation,” allocates 70% (N553 billion) to capital expenditure and 30% (N237 billion) to recurrent expenditure. Governor Sani described it as a product of extensive consultations with stakeholders to ensure the budget reflects the aspirations of Kaduna’s people.
“Given the current economic challenges, we have adopted a conservative yet strategic approach to resource allocation, focusing on critical sectors to lay a foundation for sustainable growth,” he said.
The 2025 budget prioritizes education, which receives the largest share of N206.6 billion (26.14%), underscoring the administration’s efforts towards human capital development.
Health follows with N127 billion (16.07%), while infrastructure is allocated N106 billion (13.41%) to enhance roads, utilities, and other key projects.
Other notable allocations include N74 billion (9.36%) for agriculture to boost food security and rural development, N11.2 billion (1.42%) for security to enhance peace and safety, and N9.8 billion (1.24%) for social welfare to support vulnerable groups.
Senator Sani described the 2025 budget as a reflection of his administration’s determination to drive inclusive development, create jobs, and build a safe, prosperous, and equitable state. He appealed to the State House of Assembly to give the proposal the necessary support for swift implementation.
“This budget represents our unwavering resolve to transform Kaduna into a state where opportunities abound for all. The 2025 fiscal year will be a year of progress and transformation,” the Governor stated.
As Kaduna moves into a pivotal year, all eyes will be on how this historic budget shapes the state’s trajectory.
