Wamako, a valuable asset to APC, says Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has described the godfather of Sokoto politics,Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko as a valuable asset of all time, for the APC considering the ‘Alu Tsunami’ that swept away the PDP-led administration of Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal in one piece.
Buhari further stated that the electorate of the Caliphate State have made their choice clearer by the choice of Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu as Governor-elect for Sokoto State.
Expressing his appreciation to Wamakko in a telephone call, President Buhari was quoted as saying, “the election that gave victory to Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu of APC was a huge success. And that was what the people of Sokoto State truly want.”
A statement signed by the lawmaker’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Bashar Abubakar, further quoted President Muhammdu Buhari as saying, the just-concluded Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections mark a turning point in the political history of the state.
Buhari however, advised the newly-elected officials to ensure the fulfilment of their campaign promises to the electorate.
He further described the election of Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu as the will of Allah, urging him to put in his very best to provide people-oriented projects for the progress of the state.
Responding to the call, the elated former Governor of Sokoto State lauded President Buhari for ensuring the APC remained one family playing politics with a sense of purpose.
Wamakko further extolled Buhari for always having the people of Sokoto State at heart and assured him of a good counselling to the Governor-elect, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu aimed at spectacular socio-economic advancement of the State.
The Senator who is also known Sarkin Yamma, described Buhari as a true democrat who stood firmly and patriotically for the sustenance of Nigeria’s democracy.
He appreciated Buhari for his committed leadership and invaluable advice towards the development of Nigeria as President.
