The All Progressives Congress (APC)  in Adamawa has boasted that there was no strong opposition party in the state to challenge it in  the 2019 general elections.

Organising Secretary of the party, Alhaji Shamed Lawal made the disclosure on Monday while speaking to newsmen in Yola.

Lawal said that the Governor Mohammed Bindow of Adamawa has galvanized governance, attracting strong members of the opposition parties into the ruling party’s fold.

The Organising Secretary also commended the party’s Congress Committee for conducting  free and fair ward congresses in the state.

He  urged  members who felt aggrieved over the conduct of the ward congress to seek redress from the Appeal Panel.

Lawal however said that the current state executive members of the party did not receive any complaint arising from the exercise.

He then explained that his refusal to sell nomination forms to some people was in line with the guidelines stipulated for the conduct of congresses.

Lawal revealed that some members did bulk purchase, which was against the guidelines of the party.

He however,  stressed that disagreements were part of politics, noting that the party was still ‘a one big indivisible party’ in the state in particular and the nation at large.

Recall that the APC conducted its ward congresses in the state on Sunday May 6th.
