Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has unveiled a transformative agenda to enhance infrastructure and healthcare services while empowering rural communities. Speaking at the Southern Kaduna Festival held in Kafanchan on Saturday, the governor announced a series of impactful projects aimed at unlocking economic growth and social prosperity in the region.

A major highlight of his address was the planned upgrade of the Sir Patrick Yakowa General Hospital in Kafanchan to a federal medical centre. “Upgrading it to a federal medical centre will greatly improve healthcare accessibility, strengthen tertiary healthcare delivery, and provide opportunities for advanced medical training and research in the area,” Sani said.

The governor also outlined ongoing road construction projects, including the 22.5 km Gwantu-Kibam-Godogodo road, the 21.95 km Madauchi-Kafanchan-Matsirga Waterfalls road, and the 21.85 km Pambeguwa-Kauru road. He added that 200 solar-powered streetlights have been installed across Zone 3 to improve safety and nighttime activities.

In a significant boost to skills development, Sani announced that the Kaduna State Vocational and Technology Skills Acquisition City in Samaru Kataf is nearing completion. The facility, which will graduate 12,000 trainees annually, is expected to position Kaduna as a hub for vocational excellence.

“These projects are part of our administration’s commitment to the massive transformation of rural communities,” he noted. “By empowering rural areas, we aim to achieve sustainable development, economic growth, and social progress.”

The governor reaffirmed his dedication to equitable development across the state, emphasizing that his administration is built on the principles of equity, fairness, and justice.
