Breaking: Northwest Govs, UN, AfDB Unite Against Regional Challenges, Says Uba Sani

In a bold move to address the pressing developmental challenges facing the North West region, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, alongside his counterparts, participated in a high-level meeting of the North West Governors’ Forum with key development partners.
The crucial meeting, held today, had in attendance the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), Hajia Amina J. Mohammed, and country representatives of various UN agencies in Nigeria. The focus was clear: to forge strategic alliances aimed at accelerating growth, improving agricultural productivity, and addressing socio-economic challenges across the region.
Key presentations were made by UN agencies, spotlighting innovative approaches to sustainable development in the region. Additionally, representatives of the African Development Bank (AfDB) provided detailed briefings on the implementation of the second phase of the National Agricultural Growth Scheme (NAGS) and the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones Programme (SAP-Z).
Kaduna State remains a frontrunner, having been selected as one of the beneficiaries in the first phase of SAP-Z implementation. The second phase, however, is set to expand its reach to other North West states, promising to boost agricultural value chains, create jobs, and enhance food security.
Governor Uba Sani’s presence underscored Kaduna’s proactive role in regional development initiatives. His administration’s strategic focus on agriculture, infrastructure, and social development aligns seamlessly with the objectives of these partnerships.
Stakeholders at the meeting insist that as the North West governors continue to strengthen ties with international partners, today’s meeting marks a pivotal step in translating strategic discussions into transformative actions that will reshape the region’s future.
