Breaking: Uba Sani Sani Rallies Global Support at First Kaduna Education Summit
Kaduna has been abuzz as Governor Uba Sani performed the groundbreaking KADA EduPACT International Summit 2025, bringing together global education giants, policymakers, and development partners for a three-day strategic brainstorm.
Held at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Conference Centre in Kaduna, the summit—titled “Strategic Visioning for Educational Transformation: Developing a Kaduna State Education Model”—marks a major pivot from fragmented reforms to a unified, data-driven roadmap designed to radically uplift learning outcomes across the state.
Declaring the summit open, Governor Uba Sani reaffirmed education as the “cornerstone” of his administration’s transformation agenda.
“We are building a resilient, inclusive and future-ready education system that places our children at the heart of Kaduna’s development vision,” he said.
The summit attracted top dignitaries including the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, who hailed Governor Uba Sani as “a performing Governor” and lauded Kaduna’s commitment to education as a bold example for other states.
International partners, led by the UK Government, also took centre stage. British Deputy High Commissioner, Mrs. Gill Lever OBE, described Kaduna as a trusted partner, highlighting UK-funded efforts under the PLANE programme that have driven foundational learning, teacher quality, and return of out-of-school children.
Also lending global gravitas to the event, UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed praised Kaduna’s leadership for turning global education pledges into grassroots progress amid rising global challenges.
Kaduna’s Commissioner for Education, Prof. Abubakar Sani Sambo, revealed that an unprecedented 26% of the 2025 state budget has been dedicated to education—describing it as a “historic commitment now translating into visible results.”
As technical sessions and panel discussions unfold over the next two days, all eyes are on Kaduna as it pioneers a pact-driven education model, uniting government and citizens behind a shared vision of excellence, equity, and measurable impact.
The summit is co-organised by the Kaduna State Government and the UK’s FCDO under the PLANE programme, with key support from UNICEF, World Bank-AGILE, Save the Children, IsDB, Malala Fund, Miva University, and more.
