Somalia’s Kaduna Study Tour Ends in KADIRS, Hails State’s Revenue Model

The Federal Republic of Somalia’s high-powered delegation has concluded its final lap of a study tour in Kaduna State with a visit to the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), commending the state’s efficient revenue model.

This was revealed in a press release issued by spokesman of the revenue service, Zakari Jamilu Mohammed.

Led by Somalia’s Accountant General, Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Anas, the delegation aimed to study Kaduna’s successful revenue generation framework as a blueprint for establishing a vibrant and effective revenue agency in Somalia. They were accompanied by Kaduna State Accountant General, Alhaji Bashir Sulaiman Zuntu.

During the visit, Dr. Muhammad Lawal, Executive Director Corporate Services at KADIRS, delivered a detailed presentation on the agency’s operational structure, revenue laws, strategic planning, and innovative collection methods that have transformed revenue generation in Kaduna State.

Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Comrade Jerry Adams, welcomed the delegation and praised their vision for seeking models of success, describing the visit as further proof of Governor Uba Sani’s impactful reforms and transparent governance. “Kaduna State’s processes are gaining international recognition, and we are delighted to share our experience with Somalia as they work to strengthen their financial systems,” Adams stated.

The Somali delegation expressed satisfaction with the insights gained, describing Kaduna State’s revenue model as a success story worth replicating to advance Somalia’s economic stability.

The visit marked the final stage of Somalia’s study tour in Kaduna State, reinforcing the growing reputation of Kaduna as a leader in revenue innovation and governance reforms.
