A group under the aegis of Arewa Initiative for Good Governance has called for the immediate sack of a Special Assistant on Political Affairs to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Godfrey Gayya, for unguarded utterances that inflamed people in Kaduna State.

A media statement signed by the group’s Convener, Salisu Tanko Wusono declared: “We cannot fold our arms and allow agents of divisiveness and primordial sentiments the likes of Gaiya to undermine the contributions of ex-president Buhari and our ebullient past Kaduna state governor Malam Nasir El-rufai to the evolution of democracy and realization of present political reality.

“In reminiscence, before the unfortunate appointment of Gaiya by the progressive Speaker House of Reps, Rt Hon Abbas Tajudeen, Godfrey Gaiya had been down, grounded and forgotten within the political cycle for 8 years until now.”

The group went on to say that “as a matter of urgency, political necessity and mutual co-existence, the speaker should immediately sack Hon.Gaiya to prove his political ideals of equality and respect for the military institution as unbiased and professional institution.”

AREWA INITIATIVE FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE CALLS FOR THE IMMEDIATE DIS MISAL OF GODFREY GAIYA.
The etiquette of politics, especially in a vibrant and fair democratic setting revolves within logical and critical thinking individuals. In politics, the greatest weapon is silence. In this instance, on Gaiya, who is the SAA Political Matters to the Speaker House of Representative Rt Hon. Abbass Tajudeen. We cannot fold our arms and allow agents of divisiveness and primordial sentiments the likes of Gaiya to undermine the contributions of ex-president Buhari and our ebullient past Kaduna state governor Malam Nasir El-rufai to the evolution of democracy and realization of present political reality.
In reminiscence, before the unfortunate appointment of Gaiya by the progressive Speaker House of Reps, Hon Abbas Tajudeen, Godfrey Gaiya had been down, grounded and forgotten within the political cycle for 8 years until now.
To refresh his memory, Gaiya should realize that southern Kaduna had benefitted from various military appointments which included Gen. Martin Luther Agwai, Lt Gen Luka Yusuf, Rear Admiral Ako Azeez and so much more. They have constitutionally been having their dues.
In retrospect, the advantage of the zoning and micro zoning that made it possible for him to be where he is politically now, was made possible by Mal Nasir El-rufai and the commitments of the Noble 12 which made it possible for even the speaker to emerge from the Northwest .The swift reaction of the office of the speaker to distance itself from such unguarded and malicious commitments of hate and spite from this narrow-minded political opportunists playing the scripts of ethnic agenda is commended by Arewa Initiative for Good Governance.
Patriotically, President Tinubu, Gen Buhari and Mal Nasiru El-rufai shall remain as flag staff of APC, National emancipation and democratic Reform. As a matter of urgency, political necessity and mutual co-existence, the speaker should immediately sack Hon.Gaiya to prove his political ideals of equality and respect for the military institution as unbiased and professional institution. Hon.Gaiya has nothing in common with democracy: biting the fingers that fed him.
