Fresh tensions in Sokoto as Gov-elect launches finacial probe panel

…Dead silence in Tmbuwal’s camp worries PDP
Sources in Sokoto have given hint of palpable tensions in the camp of outgoing PDP Governor Aminu waziri Tambuwal, even as many Permanent Secretaries and key officials of the outgoing administration that resigned recently have reportedly gone underground.
The sources further revealed that the outgoing administration has kept mum over the development, for which an observer in Sokoto argued that “they are now sufficiently frightened already.”
The State’s APC Governor-elect, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, has ruffled feathers with the breaking news about the unexpected setting up of a “Finance and Debt Verification Committee” apparently to probe the outgoing PDP administration.
The committee, according to reports, will be headed by what a political commentator, Isa Goronyo described as “the no nonsense” Deputy Governor-elect, Mohammed Idris Gobir. Known to be quite tough, Gobir is expected to “identify all suspicious loans secured by Tambuwal’s government since inception.”
The committee would also ascertain if the suspicious loans were utilized for the purpose they were meant for.
Gobir’s committee will expectedly “identify the purpose of the loans, their volume and unearth full details on same.”
Gobir-led 20-member committee was reportedly one of the 18 sub-committees inaugurated by the Chairman of the APC Transition Committee, Ambassador Abubakar Sani, Makaman Sokoto on Wednesday.
The tensions begun when some Sokoto state legislators became furious over an allegations of suspicious N86billion loans hanging on the neck of the State, under Tambuwal’s watch.
